What is
MORE ?
The
prevailing method to store 3d models as object surface meshes in
indexed face lists has the fundamental limitation that information
about the geometric nature of the object is lost. Knowledge of
object shape, orientation, width, height and depth, about symmetries
and redundancies is no longer available and prevent a post-design
interpretation and modification process. Unlike a text document
which can be modified and extended, a 3d mesh cannot be
post-modified efficiently.
The MORE
system processes the coordinate and face definition lists and
recovers all or most of the lost geometric parameters. A high speed
mesh analysis is performed on each independent structure.
The system reports the nature of the object shape, object dimension,
orientation and provides index lists of stack lines for each
structure. This data can be successively used to efficiently
post-process and to post-modify or to compact a 3d model and many
more.
A research
and development time of several years has been spent to create a
system with a very good geometry recognition reliability and a very
high analysis speed.
Extendibility
The index lists generated by MORE can be the base for a more
refined and custom specific object detection.

Mushroom, multi-stack, 15 stacks 16 slices, no caps, linear
spine, plane stacks.
